The Story of giftbandit.com™ and Traces of Heaven, Inc.

Mariette Fredericks owner, giftbandit.comWhen the giftbandit™ tag was created in 1993, by owner Mariette Fredericks, she had already been working in the print industry for 15 years. She married the tag idea to the invitation and stationery business, working diligently to bring quality products to her local customers.

Over the next several years, Mariette would continue to operate the business under the Traces of Heaven name, while working to cultivate the producing of the original giftbandit™ tags.

The name giftbandit™ came about after Mrs. Fredericks spent years cutting up a go-zillion greeting cards to make as gifts for family and friends.  After a few were cut and fashioned onto some presents, inspiration came while “rubber banding” the tags around dozens of Christmas gifts.

The Traces of Heaven’s name, however was taken years before from a song title, by musician Bryan Duncan. The main lyric is strongly linked to Mariette's heart. "He keeps lovingly showing me ~ Traces of Heaven!”  She concludes that none of this would exist without the close supervision of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Company was named in 1998, incorporated in 2004, and trademarked the same year, with the website following shortly therafter. It was concluded that the name giftbandit™ was to be used because it was more closely related to the stationery industry.

Since its debut in the early 1990’s the giftbandit™ tag has been redesigned a few times. And even though it was introduced in 2004, the team is excited at the opportunity of re-introducing new designs by the end of 2009.

The giftbandit™ team truly enjoys bringing traces of heaven to every event they touch, which includes high levels of service, reliability, responsiveness, strong work ethic, each backed with solid industry experience.  Furthermore each trace is carried over by energetic and creative partners that also enjoy a mutual love for beautiful stationery products and operating with integrity!
