Mariette Fredericks, Owner, began in the print industry in 1978 as a typesetter, artist, and plate-maker. In 1993, she began her business part time, naming it Traces of Heaven, selling invitations, personalized stationery and stationery gifts from her home.

As she began selling these items, her heart longed for more creativity in graphic design. Customers began to see the fruits of her labor as she added more product lines and personal touches to each order. A new quest began to collect Christmas cards, making unique gift tags.  This launched her company into a new design direction. Mariette began hand cutting and shaping  greeting cards into smaller gift tags as a way to dress up or personalize a Christmas gift.  Threading a colorful “rubber band” thru a hole at the top of each card, Mariette would band it around each gift!  Hence, Gift Bandit was born!

In early 2000, after creating and gifting away hundreds of of Christmas giftbandit tags, the name giftbandit was officially born!

Years later, getting on board with the internet, Mariette decided it was time to take GiftBandit to the web. She incorporated the giftbandit name with her every day invitation and stationery business.  GiftBandit.com was launched in 2004 and still offers the original and one of a kind gift tag design we hope you will enjoy.

The company has grown to servicing hundreds of customers each year and continues to meet the demands of her customer's invitations, stationery and calligraphy needs each day.

We are all thankful for the many opportunities and blessings, through this family business, as well as the loyalty our customers and referrals have shown to us, that inspire the fanciful designs that burst forth daily.  Mariette would like to give credit to the Lord, for making it all happen and for the joy that comes from operating it.
